Canadian Futures Showcase 2025
Max NANTAIS-VLAHOVICH
RHP - 2026 Draft Year
Mississauga Tigers HPP
Uncommitted
Nantais-Vlahovich is an athletic right-hander with a 6’2” 190-lbs build. He’s lower-half driven, encompasses a leg kick from the stretch and delivers consistently. He shows pitch-ability and has potential to eat college innings in shorter stints.
The right-hander throws a four-seam fastball sitting 87-89, topping 90 mph. He also throws a curveball at 76-78 mph, and a changeup at 81-82.
Julian SABOURIN
RHP - Draft Year 2026
Ontario Blue Jays
Committed - Oregon State University
Sabourin has promising stuff on the mound. He stands 6’2”, 195 lbs, athletic build with good mound presence. His delivery is repeated well with good tempo, a good finish and very symmetrical. He’s mechanically sound on the mound.
Sabourin can throw strikes, but his command needs to be more present. He often will stay in the danger zone too often, allowing hard contact, but generating ground balls. Sabourin has a live arm and has projectability going into college ball.
He throws a four-seam fastball that sits 89-90, topping 91.4 mph. His slider is one of his out pitches, sitting 79-81 mph with sweeping action, and his curveball sits 79-80 mph. Sabourin is set to play division one baseball for Oregon State, and his name will be of draft interest in 2026.
Lukas MCDOWELL
RHP - Draft Year 2026
Canada Reds
Committed - University of North Florida
McDowell is easily the biggest kid on the mound in this tournament. He towers at 6’8” 245 lbs. McDowell is consistent with his delivery, with a sling-shot motion on his wind, followed by a long stride by his long limbs.
His release point is 3/4 slot and his arm moves well with his body. He throws a lot of strikes, commanding the ball well and works the corners. His fastball has bite, and his offspeed is valuable.
McDowell throws a four-seam 90-91 mph, topping 92.4 mph. He also throws a slider ranging between 81082 mph, and a sinker between 91-92 mph.
