2024 Canadian Futures Showcase Initial Evaluations: 3B Tim Piasentin

Physical Makeup:

Piasentin surpasses the 200 lbs mark and still remains lean and athletic with a 6’3” vertical. His body remains strong from the bottom. The third baseman has filled out in physicality and the difference is clear compared to last season.

Initial Evaluation Synopsis 

The Okotoks Dawgs product has come back to the event for another year to display his skill level. Piasentin displays tools that are polishing up for division one baseball. He’s currently committed to the University of Miami.

With various Division one programs in the seats here today, evaluators are seeing a plus-power bat with barrel control, spay ability, and ability to hit shots. The third baseman hits from the left side, keeping his hands in and clearing the inner part of the zone, staying pull-side at times. 

His power is evident; despite clearing the wall with a few batting practice shots, Piasentin ranks second on the exit-velocity leader-board at 104.9 mph. 

He’s also a sub-seven runner and his athleticism allows effectiveness at the hot corner. Piasentin moves well, his footwork is workable, and his arm is impressive. 

This division one bat will be intriguing during in-game situations this week.
