The New York Yankees are American League Champions and are headed to the 2024 World Series. The Yankees defeated the Cleveland Guardians 5-2 in extra innings to win the series 4-1.
Yankees sent left-hander Carlos Rodon to the hill to face off with Guardians right-hander Tanner Bibee. Bibee took a no decision with 5 and 2 / 3 innings pitched, giving up six Yankees hits, two earned runs, and five strikeouts.
Hunter Gaddis picked up the loss after an extra inning three run shot to put the Yankees ahead.
Carlos Rodon also took a no decision in 4 and 2 / 3 innings pitched, allowing five hits, two earned runs, one walk, and six strikeouts.
Luke Weaver picked up the win with 2 innings pitched to finish the game.

Juan Soto launched a 402-feet three-run home run in the top of the 10th inning to put the Yankees up 5-2. Soto made the last out of the game on a flyout. The Yankees are off to the World Series for the first time since 2009.
